As someone who has been involved many years in podcasting and in public media, I felt compelled to address a romance with the medium and not the people doing it.
Public media is definitely hot for podcasting. There are dozens of interesting podcasts that come from public radio. However, there’s a big disconnect from people who aren’t into public media and what they listen to, and it’s not public radio podcasts.
I love public media people, so it pains me to have to intervene and mention just how pedestrian we are in this podcast space. However, I also shared many ways we can appropriately engage. My new piece for Medium is here.
